Welcome to the Carrot Patch! Mother and
daughter owner/directors are delighted to
bring families in the area a first-rate early
learning center where children will thrive in
a safe, fun, nurturing and creative
environment year-round.
About Us:
The preschool program at the Carrot Patch
Early Learning Center balances structured
activities that allow children to learn new
skills with free play that fosters creativity
and individual expression. Our infant &
toddler programs focus on helping children
develop a sense of security and the confidence
to explore their world. Our Staff Developer
has over 35 years of experience in
preschool/elementary education and works
closely with our teachers.

Learning Center Details
Enrollment Process:
Call or email to arrange personal meeting and
tour.
Rest Area:
Each child has his or her own cot for rest
time. Infants have their own crib. All bedding
is provided free of charge, and laundered
weekly with Dreft.
Play Area:
We have an exciting architect-designed
playground in a natural, wooded setting. We
consider time spent outdoors as an extension
of the curriculum.
Learning Area:
All of the world is a learning area to a
child! Our indoor classroom is warm and homey.
It is arranged in activity centers including
literacy, science, math & manipulatives, block
building, art, listening (music & spoken
word), dramatic play, literacy/writing, and a
book corner with 2-level loft.
Supplies Required:
We supply and launder cot sheets for each
child. The only supplies needed by each child
is a change of clothes and appropriate outdoor
wear.
Infants and toddler must supply diapers and wipes.
Food Provided:
We provide two hearty and nutritious snacks
each day. The children also have a choice of
milk, fruit juice, or water at each snack. For
children still at the Center at 4:45, we have
a little Cheerio "pick-me-up" to keep the kids
going without spoiling dinner.
Transportation:
Transportation is the responsibility of each
family.
School District:
We are in the West Woods School District at
the North end of Hamden.
